BCWD Completes Pipelaying to Dumalagan

Residents of Barangay Dumalagan, Butuan City will soon enjoy safe and potable water supply from Butuan City Water District (BCWD).
BCWD’s P4.3-million pipeline replacement project in the area was completed recently. The project consists of 3,700 linear meters of 200mm diameter uPVC pipes, traversing the stretch from Km. 6, Libertad to Dumalagan. The pipeline will convey the water supply to Brgy. Dumalagan from the 500-cubic meter bolted steel ground water reservoir in Libertad which is now being constructed.
For years, residents of Dumalagan are deprived of affordable and potable water from BCWD. The previous pipeline was affected by the road widening making it susceptible to leaks caused by too much vibration coming from heavy traffic.
With the completion of the pipeline replacement project and the 500-cubic meter water reservoir in Libertad, concessionaires of Dumalagan will now have a continuous water supply. These two projects will not only benefit the residents of Dumalagan but also the people of Pinamanculan, Bancasi, Airport area and AFPMNBAII. The pipeline will also convey water to the BCWD’s 250-cubic meter water reservoir in Pinamanculan.
