BCWD ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF A NEW GENERAL MANAGER

The Butuan City Water District (BCWD) is proud to announce and welcome, Engr. John Michael Y. Benito, as its new general manager. He will replace Engr. Anselmo L. Sang Tian whose last day of duty is yesterday, July 31, 2023.
Engr. Benito is a licensed Mechanical Engineer with 15 years of experience in water supply operations. He has expertise in Non-Revenue Water (NRW) Management.
He joins BCWD from BP Waterworks Inc. Company. He was the Operations Head of Vismin for BP Waterworks Inc. Company, the preferred water supply operator of Deca Homes Subdivisions, serving 39,279 active connections.
Before BP Waterworks Inc. Company, Engr. Benito also came from Maynilad Water Services Inc. There he handled two (2) Business Areas (BA), the South Manila / Pasay Makati BA (86,000 water service connections) and the South Caloocan BA (76,000 water service connections) to lead its Non-Revenue Water Management. There he honed his technical skills in lowering down the NRW of the areas he was handling. Both areas had 66% NRW, and he was able to lower down the NRW in just four (4) years to 14% and 35%, respectively.
In his speech during his introduction to the BCWD family on Monday, July 31, 2023, Engr. Benito emphasized the importance of collaboration to move forward and continue the legacy that the outgoing GM has left behind. He asked everybody to work together for the betterment of BCWD.
BCWD is lucky to have someone of Engr. Benito’s background and expertise come on board. His expertise will help BCWD move forward to a better future ahead.
