BCWD joins in the observance of National Disaster Resilience Month 2022

Butuan City Water District (BCWD) joined in the observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month 2022, with the theme “Sambayanang Pilipino, Nagkakaisa tungo sa Katatagan at Maunlad na Kinabukasan,” which culminated on July 29, 2022 at the Butuan City Hall Lobby.
Hosted by the City Disaster Reduction Response Management Office, the culmination activity, participated in by government and private entities, was highlighted by the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Exhibit, giving of Certificate of Commendation to various offices for rendering invaluable service during Typhoon Odette, Regional Recognition of Gawad Kalasag Seal in DRRM and Humanitarian Assistance – Beyond Compliant Award, and Zumba.
Hon. Vincent Rizal C. Rosario, SP member, welcomed the participants and guests of the event. He also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the 7.3 magnitude earthquake which struck in Luzon on July 27, 2027. He reminded everyone to be always prepared as disaster could happen anytime.
The exhibit showcased the disaster response equipment and supplies. Also displayed at the Westside of the City Hall Building were rescue trucks, fire trucks and vehicles used in rescue operations during disasters.
The Boys Scout of the Philippines demonstrated basic skills in life-saving aids. There were also information education materials distributed during the event.
BCWD was recognized for its exemplary effort and strong commitment in rendering service during the Typhoon Odette Operations on December 15 to 31, 2021.
