BCWD announces winners of the 2020 Photo Contest

The judging of the 16th Photo Contest organized by the Butuan City Water District (BCWD) as part of its 19th Water Consciousness Week and 46th Anniversary celebration has wrapped up last March 25, 2020, and the winning images and photographers have finally been identified. Ryan Santino Dasilao of Libertad Central Elementary School, Anjo V. Artucilla of Consuelo National High School Jr. High, and Kimberly Mae Saang of Consuelo National High School Sr. High, took the 1st place award for their respective categories as their photographs best depicted the wonders of nature and its importance to be able to have a sustainable water supply.

This year’s Photo Contest was open to three levels namely, Elementary, Jr. High School and Sr. High School. A total of thirteen (13) Elementary pupils; fourteen (14) Jr. High School; and thirteen (13) Sr. High School students, participated in the on-location shooting which was conducted last March 11, 2020 at Sitio Tagkiling, Brgy. Anticala.

Judging of entries took place through electronic mail last March 25, 2020. The Board of Judges for this year’s Photo Contest were: Mr. Gerie Mae Coco, Mr. Jeeky Fortun and Mr. Lyndshir Dave Cariño Manpatilan.

Declared winners for the Elementary level were: RYAN SANTINO DASILAO of Libertad Central Elementary School for the 1ST PRIZE (P3,500 plus gold medal); SERAH KAE C. PIENCENAVES of Pinamanculan Elementary School for the 2ND PRIZE (P2,500 plus silver medal); and AL JAMES M. BUTAO of Mandacpan Elementary School for the 3RD PRIZE (P1,500 plus bronze medal).

For the Jr. High School level winners: ANJO V. ARTUCILLA of Consuelo National High School Jr. High grabbed the 1ST PRIZE (P3,500 plus gold medal); ALEXIS NICOLE I. ELMIDO of Libertad National High School earned 2ND PRIZE (P2,500 plus silver medal); and JOANNA RUTH G. MAN-ON of Butuan City School of Arts and Trades clinched the 3RD PRIZE (P1,500 plus bronze medal).

Sr. High School winners were: KIMBERLY MAE SAANG of Consuelo National High School Sr. High for the 1ST PRIZE (P3,500 plus gold medal); SAMAEGAN WINONA B. AMANTE of Angelicum Montessori School for the 2ND PRIZE (P2,500 plus silver medal); and REYMON JOHN H. ABUCAYON of CFC School of the Morning Star for the 3RD PRIZE (P1,500 plus bronze medal).

All non-winners for both elementary and jr. and sr. high school will receive P 500.00 each and a certificate of participation.
