BCWD Conducts 1st Bisita Eskwela for 2020

The Butuan City Water District (BCWD) conducted the 1st set of the Bisita Eskwela Program for 2020 as BCWD personnel visited some selected schools in Butuan City as part of the Water District Week celebration. The Bisita Eskwela took place last January 27-28, 2020. A total of 358 elementary and high school students participated in the said activity. Among the 322 participants, 165 were elementary and 157 were high school students.

BCWD visited four schools within the two-day schedule for the 1st quarter Bisita Eskwela, namely: St. Joseph Institute of Technology Grade School with a total of 56 participants, St. Joseph Institute of Technology High School with a total of 82 participants, Pareja Elementary School with a total of 109 participants and Pareja Integrated Secondary School with a total of 75 participating students.

The student participants learned all about the BCWD profile and its history; watershed; how water is brought from the source to the taps; water quality; how to detect leaks in our homes; and water saving tips.

Bisita Eskwela is part of BCWD’s Water Education and Advocacy Program to the students to inculcate the appreciation of the importance of water conservation as future stewards of this precious resource.
