ANHS Class 85 enters Adopt-a-Forest MOA with BCWD

The Agusan National High School Class 1985 and the Butuan City Water District (BCWD) entered into an Adopt-a-Forest Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) last March 13, 2019 at the BCWD Boardroom, Butuan City.

Said agreement reinforces the aspiration of ANHS Class 85 to be a Partner in the Adopt-A-Forest program of the BCWD and further agrees to fund the planting of various species of fruit and forest trees for a total of one (1) hectare.

The BCWD Board of Directors approved the Adopt-A-Forest Program through Resolution No. 080-2013 dated June 17, 2013 which have now gathered 24 partners since it started.

ANHS Class 1985 expressed its interest to participate in the Adopt-A-Forest program of the BCWD in saving Taguibo Watershed and is willing to fund reforestation through Agro-forestry at Taguibo Watershed.

As indicated in the signed MOA, ANHS Class 1985 will support BCWD during its implementation of the Adopt-a-Forest Program by providing the Php 30,000.00 monetary requirement to cover cost of site preparation, out-planting and maintenance for three (3) years while BCWD will provide the counterpart to complete the Php 75,000.00 requirement for the one (1) hectare reforestation.

Representing the ANHS Class 1985 was class president Sandra Magno-Dispo, general manager Anselmo L. Sang Tian for BCWD and was witnessed by members of the BCWD Board of Directors, namely: Dir. Crispin L. Young and Dir. Horacio Santos, together with representatives from ANHS Class 1985.

BCWD continues to advocate for an Adopt-A-Forest program wherein interested Peoples Organizations, Civil Society Organizations, Non-Government Organizations and other entities can participate in the rehabilitation program in order to save the Taguibo River Watershed Forest Reserve based on BCWD outlined activities and methods.
