The Philippine Association of Water Districts, Inc. (PAWD) conducted its 39th Annual Convention last February 7-10, 2018 at the Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo City with Water Districts Association of Region VI as host and Iloilo City Water District as co-host. The theme for this year’s convention was “Water District Options and Solutions for Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation.”
Participants from water districts all over the Philippines joined in the annual confab which included Board of Directors, General Managers, WD Employees, Exhibitors and Sponsors with a total of around 1,800 registered participants.
The convention highlighted a list of events to underscore the important role that water districts nationwide play for the effective management of water resources and sanitation, as well as the innovations they are actively pursuing to be able to provide quality potable water as well as venture to provide sanitation to every household.
Aside from that, among the highlights of the annual convention was the conduct of the National Level Contests, namely: Tap and Drill Olympics for Water District Employees, Best Publication Award and 7th PAWD National Science and Math Quiz.
7th PAWD National Science and Math Quiz
The 7th PAWD National Science and Math Quiz was conducted last February 7, 2018 at the Diamond Jubilee Hall, Division Office of Iloilo City. Prior to the contest day, last February 6, 2018, the Board of Evaluators of the 7th PAWD National Science and Math Quiz convened to finalize the questions at the Boardroom of the Iloilo City Water District.
During the contest day, a total of seven elementary pupils and eight junior high school students participated in the said contest representing the different regional associations all over the country.

PAWD National Tap and Drill Olympics
The PAWD National Tap and Drill Olympics was conducted last February 7, 2018 at the Iloilo City. Prior to the contest day, last February 6, 2018, contestants attended the orientation at the Metro Iloilo Water District Office.
