WATER SUPPLY STATUS UPDATE (May 16, 2018 8:00 AM)
The Butuan City Water District (BCWD) issued a press release last Wednesday, May 9, 2018, informing the concessionaires that the entire service area will experience water interruption on May 15 from 10:00 P.M. to 2:00 A.M. of May 16 due to the installation of 10-inch diameter gate valve at Pump Station No. 3 located in Alviola Village, Brgy. Baan Km. 3, Butuan City. Based from the updates received from the personnel conducting the installation, the gate valve was opened at 3:30 A.M. as the installation was successfully completed.
Build-up of water pressure is still continuing as of press time. However, the build-up of water pressure is taking more time as the pipelines were emptied for a longer period. As such, areas located at the end point of the system and at elevated areas are still waterless. Normal water pressure will be restored within the day.
In the meantime, BCWD is advising concessionaires that have water in their faucets, not to drink the water directly from taps as water may be turbid. Concessionaires may let the taps flow until such time that the turbid water will clear. If the quality of water is still turbid, please call the BCWD so that personnel may visit your area to conduct flushing of pipelines.
Please report any water quality problem in your area so that BCWD personnel can visit your area to correct this problem.
Thank you so much for understanding.
