It can be recalled that BCWD disconnected said pipeline that was affected by the bridge widening project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on September 23, 2021. The event was graced by no less than the new Secretary of the Department of Health (DOH), Dr. Teodoro Javier Herbosa.
In his keynote speech, Herbosa said “the private sector should engage so that we can have a unified and inclusive approach to the development of the healthcare agenda. As we set to this journey, let us keep it in mind that we are shaping the future of the healthcare in the Philippines.”
Herbosa congratulated ACE Group for having 40 hospitals all over the country. “That is more than 4,000 beds at 100 beds per hospital. Indeed, you are a major industry player in the field of healthcare,” he said.
Together with the ACE Group and the rest of the private sector, Herbosa’s dream is to build a healthcare system that is not just comprehensive but also compassionate, affordable, efficient, equitable and above all one that is truly cares for the well-being of every Filipino, every community, and every healthcare worker.
“I urge you all to actively participate, engage, discuss, and embrace the opportunity to become champions of change in your organization, the province, the region, and the nation. Work together with renewed sense of mission, we can reform the healthcare system.
“Our healthcare workers are prided as one of the best in the world. In the 1960s, people would go to the Philippines to get healthcare. Today, they go to Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand to get healthcare services.
“So we need to work hard to regain that commitment and prestige. Once again my call to the private sector, let’s partner in the 8-point action agenda. Together, we can seize this opportunity and create a healthy Pilipinas, kung saan bawat buhay ay mahalaga. Mabuhay ang Allied Care Experts Medical Center - Butuan, Inc. Mabuhay ang bawat Filipino. Mabuhay ang ating adhikain para sa kalusugan at kagalingan ng ating lahi,” Herbosa concluded.
