WATER STATUS UPDATE (October 12, 2016 8:45AM)

The Butuan City Water District (BCWD) has fully operated its facilities at the source and the Filtration Plant last night with water pressure at Pump Station No. 1 reaching 593kPa (86psi). However, with the continuing rainy weather at the Taguibo River Watershed Forest Reserve, the turbidity level at the source sometimes rises to certain levels of turbidity which is beyond the requirement set forth by the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water (PNSDW). As such, as of 8:45AM, October 12, 2016, the water pressure at Pump Station No. 1 lowered to only 352kPa (51psi). The entire service area will experience low water pressure while end points of the system and those located in elevated areas may be waterless.

We urge all BCWD concessionaires to continue storing water to meet domestic needs as the water pressure can lower down from time to time due to the rainy weather. Aside from that, concessionaires are advised not to drink water directly from the faucets. Concessionaires may use boiled tap water for drinking and cooking purposes as a safety precaution.

For those areas experiencing low water to waterless situation, BCWD will continue conducting water rationing. Tankers will be roaming around the City, October 12, 2016, starting 10:00am. The following barangays will be the recipients for the water rationing:
Tanker 1 (October 12, 2016; start: 10:00am)
• Bit-os
• Upper Mandacpan
• San Vicente
• Bingkilan
- Purok Lanzones
- Purok Lawaan

Tanker 2 (October 12, 2016; start: 10:00am)
• Dumalagan
• Bancasi, Purok 6
• Pinamanculan
• Bonbon

Tanker 3 (October 12, 2016; start: 10:00am)
• Lubocan
• Masao

We deeply regret the inconvenience. Thank you for your continuing support to BCWD.
