ADVISORY Energization of Pump Stations No. 1 and No. 14

The Butuan City Water District (BCWD) informs its valued concessionaires that Pump Stations No. 1 and No. 14 will be energized on June 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM as part of the BCWD continuing efforts to enhance the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of its water supply system. This initiative is also intended to augment the water supply currently being lost due to the damaged transmission line in Barangay Taguibo.
This development comes as BCWD continues to closely monitor and manage the transmission line leak in Barangay Taguibo, which was detected following the earthquake on June 9, 2026. While preparations for the repair of the affected transmission line are ongoing, BCWD remains committed to implementing measures that will help improve water supply availability and strengthen system resilience across its service areas.
The energization of the two pump stations is expected to primarily benefit the Hydraulic System (HS) 3 service area, which covers Barangay Buhangin up to Butuan City Proper. BCWD’s technical personnel will closely monitor the operation of the pump stations and assess their impact on the water distribution system to ensure stable and efficient service delivery.
As operational adjustments are carried out and water flow conditions within the distribution system change, some concessionaires may experience temporary changes in water quality, including possible discoloration. While some areas may not be affected, others may observe a yellowish tint in the water.
BCWD advises concessionaires to:
• Avoid using discolored water for drinking or cooking.
• Avoid using discolored water when washing white clothes.
