ADVISORY Reminder to Concessionaires on BCWD Water Meter Set Assembly (January 30, 2026; 3:20 PM)

The Butuan City Water District (BCWD) informs the public that all water meter set assemblies are the property of the District and are maintained in their default “open” position.
Effective February 1, 2026, BCWD strictly prohibits concessionaires from operating the angle valves of the meter set assembly, including opening or closing them. If BCWD determines that an angle valve has been closed without authorization, field personnel shall immediately restore the valve to its open position. This policy is intended to eliminate no water complaint due to close angle/ball valve.
Concessionaires are therefore advised to install their own separate control valves (such as angle valves, ball valves, or similar devices) within their in-house plumbing system to regulate water flow for their personal use.
In cases of emergency leaks or urgent repairs, concessionaires may temporarily close the BCWD angle valve. However, it is necessary for them to provide information to BCWD and ensure valve is returned to open position after repair.
