Advisory BCWD Announces Temporary Suspension of Water Meter Calibration (January 15, 2026; 3:27PM)
Butuan City Water District (BCWD) informs the public that the Non-Revenue Water (NRW) Meter Calibration operations are temporarily suspended due to the ongoing calibration of the testing machine at the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
The temporary suspension is necessary to ensure that the calibration equipment meets the required standards of accuracy and quality, thereby guaranteeing reliable and valid results for customers.
In connection with this development, BCWD advises the public of the following:
- Customers who wish to have their water meters calibrated may still submit their meters to the Non-Revenue Water Division upon payment of the prescribed Php 200.00 testing fee. However, calibration results will be released only after the testing machine becomes fully operational, with results expected to be available starting February 2026.
- Submitted water meters shall be temporarily retained by the Non-Revenue Water Division, and customers will be notified through a phone call once their respective calibration results are ready.
BCWD assures its concessionaires that the temporary suspension is a necessary measure to uphold service quality, accuracy, and transparency. The water district asks for the public’s understanding and cooperation as it works toward the resumption of full calibration services at the soonest possible time.
