A D V I S O R Y BCWD Advises Consumers to Prepare as Typhoon “Tino” Intensifies (November 3, 2025; 1:00PM)
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 6 at 11:00 A.M. on November 3, 2025, announcing that “Tino” has intensified into a typhoon. Moderate to heavy rains over Butuan City is anticipated as the typhoon continues to move closer to the region. According to PAGASA, Typhoon Tino was last located approximately 340 kilometers east-southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, with maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 150 kph, moving west-southwest at 25 kph.
As part of its commitment to providing reliable and quality water service, the Butuan City Water District (BCWD) has intensified monitoring of its water sources and implemented preparedness measures to mitigate any possible operational impacts caused by the approaching storm.
BCWD advises all concessionaires to store enough water to meet domestic needs in case Typhoon Tino affects the District’s water supply operations.
To ensure the safety of its customers and employees, BCWD offices will be closed starting 3:00 P.M. today, November 3, 2025.
The District remains in close coordination with its bulk water supplier, Taguibo Aquatech Solutions Corporation (TASC), to maintain continuous monitoring of water production levels and to provide timely updates as the situation develops.
