PUBLIC ADVISORY (August 31, 2025 8:00 AM) Temporary Reduction in Water Supply Due to High Turbidity in Taguibo River

The Butuan City Water District (BCWD) would like to inform all concessionaires that our bulk water supplier has temporarily reduced water supply volume due to the high turbidity level in the Taguibo River. This condition was caused by heavy rainfall at the Taguibo Watershed in Sitio Iyao, Brgy. Anticala.

As of 7:00 AM today, the volume of water supplied to BCWD is only 45 million liters per day (MLD) - significantly lower than normal operating levels.

Concessionaires in elevated locations and endpoints of the waterlines are likely to experience low water pressure or service interruptions, particularly in the following barangays:

* Bit-os
* San Vicente
* Villa Kananga
* Bancasi
* Libertad
* Ambago
* Lumbocan
* Masao

We strongly encourage all consumers to store enough water for essential use while supply is still available in your area.

We are closely coordinating with our bulk water supplier to restore full service as soon as conditions improve and the turbidity level returns to safe, treatable limits.

For inquiries and updates, please contact BCWD Call Center at (085) 817-6635; 0918-930-4234; 0917-188-8726.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this temporary disruption. Please stay tuned for further announcements.
