ADVISORY Reconfiguration of Water Supply Lines – Isolation of East Side of Butuan City (August 8, 2025 6:00PM)
The Butuan City Water District (BCWD) informs the public that a reconfiguration of the water supply system may be implemented in case of reduced water supply volume from TASC (Taguibo Aquatech Solutions Corporation).
Under this contingency measure:
- The East Side of Butuan City will be isolated and will be supplied by four (4) pump stations operated by BCWD.
- The West Side will continue to be supplied directly by TASC through the main transmission line from the source to the City Proper after the Magsaysay Bridge, and going toward the endpoints of the water system.
IMPORTANT REMINDER TO THE PUBLIC:
In the event that this measure is implemented:
- The East Side, using deepwell water sources, may experience changes in water quality, particularly in taste or mineral content.
- BCWD strongly advises the public (both from East to West) to boil water first before drinking as water quality may be affected by the reconfiguration of the pipelines.
Your understanding and cooperation are highly appreciated as BCWD ensures continuous water service to all areas of Butuan City.
BCWD encourages everyone to remain updated by following BCWD’s official Facebook page and website.
